Orders as invoices
Every paid Wix order becomes a sales invoice in Moneybird with a line per product, discounts and shipping separate and the Wix order number as reference. Products, bookings and tickets all go this way. Before anything is booked, Schakel checks the invoice against the total Wix charged.

Customers as contacts
The buyer is looked up in Moneybird by email and only created when there is no match, with the name, address and email from the order. When the same customer orders again later, the invoice goes on the same contact.

VAT per line and OSS
If you follow the VAT Wix charged, every line gets the rate Wix used, including the foreign rate on an EU sale under OSS. If that rate is not in Moneybird yet, the order waits until you create it, instead of landing on the wrong rate.

Refunds as credit notes
A cancellation or full refund reverses the invoice with a credit note. A partial refund after the invoice gets its own credit note for exactly what went back, and whatever went back before the invoice never lands on it.

Setting it up

Create an API key in Wix
In your own Wix account you create a key that may only read orders, and paste it into Schakel with the link to your Wix dashboard. Your site and checkout stay unchanged.

Grant access to Moneybird
You authorise Schakel through Moneybird and pick the administration the invoices should land in. Your password is never asked for or stored.

Set VAT and ledger
You pick your revenue account and VAT rate, whether Schakel follows the VAT Wix charged, and whether unpaid orders already get an invoice.

Let it run
From the date you choose, your invoicing keeps pace by itself. Every invoice is in the overview.

Common questions
Is the Wix to Moneybird connector available?
Yes. You set it up yourself from your Schakel account and start with a free trial. All you need is an API key from your Wix account and access to your Moneybird administration.
Does this work with Wix Payments and other payment providers?
Yes. Schakel reads the paid order, whether you settle through Wix Payments, PayPal or another provider, and books the invoice in Moneybird.
Do my customers receive the invoice?
No. Schakel creates the invoice in Moneybird without mailing it. Wix already sends your customer its own order confirmation.
From which status does it book?
By default on a paid order. If your customers can also pay afterwards, for example by bank transfer, you can have unpaid orders invoiced too.
Does anything change in my Wix site?
No. The key may only read orders and Schakel never writes anything back to Wix. Your site, theme and checkout stay exactly as they are.
Can you connect Wix to Moneybird?
Yes. Schakel connects through the official APIs of Wix and Moneybird, so you install nothing on your own server and nothing travels outside those two parties.
Which VAT rate do my sales get in Moneybird?
The rate is set per line: 21%, 9% or 0%. Sales to Belgium and other EU countries get the rate of the destination country, ready for your OSS return.
Are commission and fees booked separately in Moneybird?
Yes. Commission, shipping and other fee types each land on their own ledger account in Moneybird, rather than in one lump sum, so your margin stays readable.
