Cancellations
Confirm customer cancellation requests automatically, so nobody has to wait for you.
The buyer asked for it

When a customer asks to cancel an order, Bol.com expects a quick response. Respond too late and the parcel goes out anyway, turning into a return, with postage and an unhappy customer on top.
Schakel confirms those requests for you. As soon as Bol.com puts a cancellation request on an ordered item, and that item has not shipped yet, Schakel cancels it with the reason "requested by customer".
If it has already shipped, the item is left alone. At that point it is not a cancellation but a return, and that runs its own course.
What it does
- Schakel checks every order for a cancellation request from Bol.com.
- Only items that have not shipped yet are cancelled.
- The cancellation goes to Bol.com with the reason REQUESTED_BY_CUSTOMER, the code that belongs there.
- Items already on their way are left untouched.
- The log shows what was cancelled and when.
How to switch it on
Turn cancellations on
One switch. There is nothing else to configure, because Schakel only confirms what the customer asked for.
Know how quickly a request is confirmed
How quickly a request is confirmed depends on the interval that comes with your plan. The shorter that interval, the smaller the chance the parcel is already on its way.
Keep an eye on the log
For the first few days you can see exactly what was cancelled. Once that looks right, you can leave it alone.
Also available
Every switch works on the same Bol.com connection. Turn on what you need and leave the rest off.
- VAT invoices An invoice for every order automatically, uploaded to Bol.com when a business buyer asks for one.
- Review requests A friendly request for a review, a week after shipping, once per order.
- Returns Approve small returns automatically with "keep it", so you do not pay a return label for an 8 euro item.
- Alerts An email when a return or cancellation comes in, when stock runs low, and a daily summary.
- VAT export Your revenue and VAT per month, plus your Bol.com costs, in one CSV. The revenue comes from the invoices Schakel makes, so that switch has to be on.
- Profit per product What you keep per product after commission, shipping and purchase cost, based on Bol.com's own cost invoices.
Common questions
Does Schakel also cancel orders I cannot fulfil?
No. Schakel only confirms cancellation requests that come from the customer. If you cannot supply something, you cancel that yourself, with the reason that fits.
What if the item has already shipped?
Then Schakel does nothing. A shipped item can no longer be cancelled, so it becomes a return once the customer sends it back.
Does this affect my performance score?
A request confirmed quickly is exactly what Bol.com asks of you. The alternative, a parcel shipped anyway that comes back as a return, costs you more.
