Quarterly VAT reminder
At the start of a new quarter, a reminder that the return is coming, with the deadline attached.
The VAT return is the deadline everybody knows and half of them meet late. Not because it is hard, but because a quarter is long enough to forget it.
At the start of a new quarter you get a message that the previous one has ended and until when you can file. Early enough to still do something about it.
This is a reminder, not a return. If you want to see roughly where you stand, you ask in the chat about your VAT for a quarter and get sales VAT, input VAT and the balance out of your own administration. Filing is something you do yourself, with the tax office.
What it does
- Arrives at the start of a new quarter.
- Names which quarter has ended and the date you can file until.
- Says itself that it is a reminder and not a calculated return.
- In the chat you ask for the VAT overview of a quarter: sales VAT, input VAT and the balance.
How to switch it on

It is on by default and comes four times a year. If your bookkeeper files the return, this is still the message you remind them with.

Common questions
Does Schakel file my return?
No, and the message says so. Schakel reminds you of the deadline and can show you what is in your administration. The return is filed by you or your bookkeeper, with the tax office.
