Revenue says little. What you keep depends on the commission, the shipping and what you paid for the product, and those three are never in one place.

Schakel puts them side by side. Revenue comes from your orders, commission from the invoice specifications Bol.com sends you. So the amounts actually withheld, not an estimate from the published rate.

Your purchase price, shipping and packaging costs you enter per EAN yourself, or you load them in one go with a CSV. After that you see per product what is left at the bottom.

Concretely

What it does

  • Revenue excluding VAT per EAN from your Bol.com orders.
  • Commission from the Bol.com invoice specifications, so what was actually withheld.
  • You enter purchase price, shipping and packaging costs per EAN.
  • You can import those costs in one go with a CSV.
  • Margin per product, in euro and as a percentage.
  • This view runs by order date, so it does not line up row for row with the VAT export.
Setting it up

How to switch it on

01

Enter your costs per product

Purchase, shipping and packaging per EAN. With a lot of items, put them in a CSV and import the lot at once.

02

Let the cost invoices come in

As soon as Bol.com publishes a cost invoice, Schakel picks up the specification and spreads the commission across the orders it covers.

03

Look at your margin

Per product you see revenue, commission, your costs and what is left. Sometimes that is a surprise.

Common questions

Why not just calculate with the commission rate?

Because what Bol.com actually withholds differs from it. Promotions, corrections and reversals on returns are not in the published rate. The invoice specification is the amount that really leaves your account, so that is what Schakel uses.

Do I have to type in every purchase price?

You can, but you do not have to. Put the costs per EAN in a CSV and import them all at once. If a purchase price changes later, you edit that one row.

How soon do I see the commission on a new order?

As soon as Bol.com publishes the cost invoice that order appears on. Until then you see the revenue and your own costs, and the commission is added later.
