Connect AI
AI in your administration means one thing at Schakel: an assistant that works inside your own Moneybird, answers your questions from your own figures and books after your confirmation. It runs on DeepSeek. There is no connection to Claude, ChatGPT or OpenAI, and you cannot attach an account or API key of your own. What it may do is a fixed list of actions, and what is not on that list does not happen.

Sales invoices, quotes, receipts, purchase invoices, hours and contacts. Contact, lines, VAT rate, project and total are shown, and only after your yes does it go to Moneybird.

Payments, overdue invoices, expired quotes, new purchase invoices, the monthly overview, a VAT reminder and unprocessed bank entries. On or off per type, with quiet hours.

Connect your Moneybird
You authorise Schakel once in Moneybird itself. This is an automation, so you need only one system.

Start with questions
Asking changes nothing. That way you see whether the assistant reads your administration correctly before you let it record anything.

Add one thing at a time
Receipts, then proposed payments, then the notifications you want. Everything can be switched off one at a time, including in the chat.

Which model sits behind it?
DeepSeek. Not Claude, not ChatGPT, not OpenAI, and you cannot attach a key of your own. The model picks an action from a fixed list and can call nothing else.
Which accounting package does this work with?
For Moneybird at the moment. The assistant is built on what Moneybird expects: a ledger account and a VAT rate per line, and a contact before an invoice can hang off it.
Does this file my VAT return?
No. You get a VAT overview from your own figures and a reminder once the quarter has ended. Filing stays with you or your bookkeeper.
