1. 01

    Open the API settings

Log in to ChannelDock and go to Settings, then API and webhooks.

  2. 02

    Generate new API keys

Click Generate new API keys. You get an API key and an API secret. Copy them both straight away.

  3. 03

Enable read access for orders and channels

In the key’s permissions, enable GET for orders and channels. That is all Schakel needs: nothing is written back to ChannelDock.

  4. 04

Paste the key and secret into Schakel

In Schakel, go to Connections, pick ChannelDock and paste the API key and the API secret. Schakel tests them right away.

Worth knowing

  • If you generate new keys later, paste the new ones into Schakel, on the same connection.
  • ChannelDock passes on no VAT for an order. The VAT rate of your prices and whether prices include VAT are set in the connector settings.
  • If a channel is also connected directly to Schakel, for example Bol.com or Shopify, choose in the settings which ChannelDock channels are booked, or the same sale gets two invoices.

If something goes wrong

Schakel says ChannelDock does not recognise the key.
Check that the key and secret are not swapped and that no space was copied along. If you generated new keys in the meantime, use the new ones.
The settings show no channels.
Then the key lacks read access for channels. Enable GET for channels in ChannelDock. Without the list, all channels are booked.
